I'm truly appalled by the news.
I guess, there's no such thing as eternal wedding vows in Hollywood. I really liked them as a couple. Plus, they made really cute babies..
Reese Witherspoon & Ryan Phillippe split Reese Witherspoon and Ryan Phillippe, who started the year on an Oscar-winning high, are ending it on a low note: The couple have separated.
"We are saddened to announce that Reese and Ryan have decided to formally separate," publicist Nanci Ryder said in a statement issued Monday on behalf of the couple.
"They remain committed to their family and we ask that you please respect their privacy and the safety of their children at this time," the brief statement concluded. Ryder said she could not elaborate on the split.
Witherspoon, 30, and Phillippe, 32, have two children, 7-year-old Ava and 3-year-old Deacon. The couple, who co-starred in the 1999 movie "Cruel Intentions," married that year.

Happy Halloween Everyone..

=) Yes, it's that time of year again. It kinda makes me miss Canada so much, mostly because I got see interesting people dress up as other people. I had fun just watching people go by Queens street in their costumes. No children wandering around trick or treating in my neighbourhood here in China..
It's not like there are no clubs or bars with Halloween parties in Beijing. They have quite a number of Halloween events around actually. It's just that, the feeling wouldn't be the same.
And there was CIA's Autumn Fest.. <33 I missed those ol' times.. It was that time of the year where I could dress up as whatever I want without anyone looking all weird at me.. Although, I wasn't daring enough to opt dressing up as a slutty Catholic school-girl
*stares at Ed* =) Send me piccies, hun! I wanna see you all slutty.
hah. that came out wrong. ;p
Anyways, flashback to few years back..

00:14
btw, my sis just went back to Jakarta tonight. *sob* so will miss here. My room would so much quieter without her around.
The good thing about her going back to Indo is... I wouldn't have to fight for the blanket anymore (both of us are the bad sleepers of the family, kicking each others' butts for space). Or waiting on her to finish hogging my laptop. Haha.. Still, life would be oh-so-empty without her. =)
on that note, I would like to point out that I'll be going back to Indo in about.. 1 month! That's the time I have to lose all the weight I'd prolly have gained since my sis' visit (we ate like lil' piggies).. *sighs*
Haven't booked any ticket though.
Anyways, we decided to go to Summer Palace after all, thanks to my aunt who said that it was worth our time. So off we went on Sunday afternoon. Me, Mar and Mon.
It was much more interesting than The Forbidden City, which I found rather.. boring and monotone despite the rich history behind it.
Summer Palace is actually quite a romantic spot, in addition to all the history behind it. It has a really pretty lake and island in the middle of it, called South Lake Island. We were really fortunate that the weather that Sunday was bright and sunny, we got to see the sunset.
I'm not really good with words, so I guess I'll just do the pictures do the talking.. ^_^

Haha, pardon the lots of pictures.

So, in my previous post I mentioned that I was planning to go sushi buffet on Saturday night. Well, that was the plan. We did go to
Matsuko, high with anticipation and everything.. Then, of course there was no dinnertime buffet, only lunchtime. GAH.
But, I fell in love instantly with the restaurant. The atmosphere, the interior were lovely.. And the sushi was yum yum yum. The a la carte quite expensive for Beijing's standards, maybe around the price of Sushi Tei in Jakarta, so it was still quite affordable for my pocket. Worth every penny though. Then, we decided we were gonna have the buffet before class on Monday.
We arrived at 11 am on Matsuko, eager to get our hands on those yum2 sushi, only to find out that apparently the sushi buffet wouldn't start til 11.30. ^^" Hah, wrong info again. It doesn't really matter though cause being the narcisstic bunch we are.. we used that waiting time to take wholla lot piccies before the bustling activities began.
We paid 68RMB per person (that's around 80ish Rupiah), the average price for sushi buffet in Beijing. Quite reasonable I think, considering the range of variety of food and drinks they offer for the buffet. It's not the order-what-you-want type of sushi buffet though. It's the hotel-buffet kind, you-take-what-we-serve type. The food is served satisfactorily fresh nevertheless.

Didn't take that much piccies of our conquest, was too busy with the eating part. =)
Foodie foodiess..

I wish we could get more sashimi though.. it was .. ahhh heavenly. We only get one plate of those.

help.
I'm having troubles viewing my own blog. Or any other blog for that matter. Can't read my daily reads of Tren, Mon and Ed. *sobs*
The weird thing is I'm able to create new post, or edit from the dashboard like normal. It's just when I try viewing the page itself, it goes to show "THE PAGE CANNOT BE DISPLAYED".
awh damnit.
Today I have to go to Andy and Wian's place to start doing our midterm Data Model project, which is due on this coming Monday. As always, we slack off the last minute to start doing it. I'm crossing my fingers it won't be appallingly hard. The plan for dinner is sushi buffet. =) Woot!!
Yesterday's dinner at Annie's was enjoyable. The place was packed. When I first entered the restaurant, my first thought was, man, it doesn't feel like I'm in China. Everywhere you turn you see foreigners, mostly Caucasians. Either a couple on a date or a happy family dining together. But by the time I was seated, then everything was back to Beijing scene.
I have to say, the service was delightful. It was surprisingly fast and helpful for such a busy resaturant.
My sister loved the toasted bread and butter. Plus, it's free and you can ask for as many as you want.
We ordered mushroom soup, Carbonara and Annie's Pizza.
The mushroom soup was YUM. I loved it. It wasn't too creamy with LOTS of mushroom bits. When it was first served on the table, it didn't look too appetizing. It kinda looked like oatmeal cereal. Plus they should've used a more enticing bowl to serve it.
The carbonara fettucine was satisfactory.

Sorry my Dopod camera is unable to capture it perfectly.
Should've ordered something else. Annie's Pizza topping was kinda disappointing, but the thin crust is perfect.

Ate like a pig, paid only 94RMB (That's around 100 rupiah) for it. <3
Went to Jenny Lou's Supermarket next to it. Took some cereals (POST brand! i miss canada.. it's Maple Crunchy something flavour) that I'd never find at some neighbourhood Chinese supermarket.
I forgot to post few piccies from when we ate at Bellagio. The trip to that place was kinda a pain in the ass. Stupid us and more stupid to the taxi driver. Let's not go there..
Me and Mon shared the special shaved ice, while Mar ate her fave plain ice shaved ice with LOTS of condensed milk and pearls..
I wanted "Fall In Love" shaved ice, which is coffee + peanut butter comb, but decided not to since Mon doesn't really like peanut butter. And the coffee would keep her awake at night.. ^^"

Ciao! Gotta drag my sis' ass outta bed. Hafta go lunching.

music: Glenn Fredly - You're My Everythingyes, I'm that bored..

So, I checked my email and found out that apparently GC has shot the video for their new song "Keep Your Hands Off My Girl".
Okies. I'm still a fan of Good Charlotte after all these years.. But when I first heard this song from their site, the first thing that escaped my lips was "omg, it sucks". They were on a hiatus, so when they kinda released this song I had really high hopes. But the hopes came crashing down, shattered. Maybe I was being harsh. They're trying on new stuff and I should be supportive, right? ARGH. No matter how many times I listened to it, I still hate it. It somehow sounded as if they're trying to channel The Killers.
Hopefully this song wouldn't reflect the entriety of their new upcoming album, godknowswhen it's gonna be released. Hopefully soon enough. I'm just scared when I preview their new album, it's gonna sound gob-smackingly awful with collabs with bunch of rappers and ghetto hiphop mogul. Somehow I'd prefer it if Joel decides to pay an ode to Hillary Duff and come up with a bubblegum-pop album.
....
should stop being so sceptical
The video is.. okies I guess. The black and white thing is okies. I LOVE Joel's long coat though, so that's at least something. I still can't get used to his diamond earrings.
ps to dhika: are you spazzing over Benji?
And I didn't know they have GCTV. Whatever that is.. I guess I'm really behind with GC news..
And for tonight's dinner I think I'm taking my sis to Annie's Cafe for "Best Italian 2006" in Beijing. I've never had the chance to try it, but I've heard wonderful things... It'd be a date, just the two of us.
15:03
It's Friday, again. Nothing really much to do. Supposed to go to Summer Palace but there were change of plans. Kinda disappointed mostly cause I am so damn bored at home and felt like going somewhere other than some shopping complex. Ah, well, maybe next time.
Yesterday when we were supposed to go karaoke-ing, something got in the way too. So.. Baah.
Caught up with Heroes. <3 So far, there hasn't been a reason for to stop liking the series.
Anywoot, last Friday we went to Happy Valley. It was quite fun. So much more than my expectations. And the queues weren't too long either (I hate waiting on the long queue just to get on a less than 5 minute ride). Weather was fine even though it got kinda windy later in the afternoon. I liked the themes they have going there, and the rides aren't so bad either. Unfortunately one of the anticipated rides had some tech problems, so we didn't get to ride it.
So, since I don't have anything else to share.. I figure, I'll just present you guys with piccies bombards.. =p

ahh..boredom.

I apologize for not updating recently.. my sister is really hogging on the computer. I have emailes and friendster messages not replied, truly am sorry, I'll get to you as soon as possible. She's like super excited about the speed of the net compared to Indo, so she's taking over my lappie for the moment. ^^"
Shopping in China has been kinda boring..
Today's going to Happy Valley. Hopefully it's still operating.

another uneventful day. gah. I even couldn't help but fall asleep at the export import class. Thank God it had to end early.
am catching up on
Supernatural season 1..
Doing so while cleaning up my dusty room (can't believe the amount of hair I lost..) since my sis is coming tomorrow =p and reading up the case study for financial statement analysis. About that... HELP. I think I'm gonna suffer taking this course. I'm only taking it cause I realise how important it is, it's not like I have the slightest bit interest on the subject. *sighs*
I hope I'll survive the final individual case study report.
Talking about deadly courses, International Business is really another matter. The problem is not the course itself, but more to the fact that I barely understand the broken English the professor communicates in. I'm trying to put it in the nicest way possible, but really, I've got headaches trying to comprehend what he's talking bout. Error? Area? What means this..?
help.
I'm really thinking of dropping this course. It has a 80% final exam. *gasp in horror* If the lecture continues to be incomprehensible, I might really drop it.
Cooked the herbal chicken soup (from the instant package Mom bought me from Singapore) for dinner. Somehow it ended looking like white mushroom soup as I put too much of the white fungus in. ^^"

the every-now-and-then fix of random comics strips.

I love CATHY <3

Maybe because I can relate... ha2.
18:12
So, after finally watching the first episode of the latest season of Smallville, I've decided that I might continue watching the rest of the series after all. What has made me decide to stick with it after all, one might wonder? Well, the main reason is Tom Welling actually. He's too hot to be ditched..ha3. Besides, I think the new season might start to pick things up later on. And, I kinda think the new pairing of Chloe and Jimmy (James, as he prefers) Olsen is frackin' cute. It's nice to see that Chloe is finally able to move on, she deserves more than to be hung up on Clark.
Ahh, what a pointless rambling..but that's actually the whole point of having this blogger. Me and my random pointless ramblings.
Today is...uninteresting as usual. Spent the day watching the first 3 episodes of new season of Desperate Housewives, took my time doing my weekly Data Model assignment, browsing through Youtube, 'karaoke-ing'
to romanized lyrics of my current k-pop favourites (I think I'm kinda borderline obsessed with Eru - Black Glasses); among other useless things. Was supposed to have Chinese lesson, but we cancelled it last minute; changed the time to tomorrow evening after class.
3 more days til' my youngest sis coming here <3 have few plans in mind.. which involve sushi buffet (oh la laaa...~), Phrik Thai, Bellagio, Korean BBQ, and more food; shopping shopping and shopping; going to Happy Valley (some amusement park somewhere in Beijing) ; to Summer Place; and others.... all those things while having to keep in mind:
OMG I have projects and assignments to do! (T^T)

Gloomy Saturday
17:02
Ah, the weather today is oh-so-gloomy. I wanna go out, but have no idea where to. Boredom.. I've watching tv series as usual on my laptop. Oh, the excitement *sarcasm*
A korean movie to look forward to..
The Restless
According to a certain belief/teaching, Jungcheon is a dimension between heaven and earth. When people die their soul will spend 49 days in Jungcheon before moving to heaven or hell, or being rebirth..
Jung Woo-sung play as an ancient warrior who can't forget about his love (Kim Tae-hee) and somehow manage to get into the Jungcheon to look for her.
She however has no memories about him. She has become a guardian angel in the Jungcheon dimension to fight against a dark force in the dimension. While looking for his lover, he is caught in the battle between the good and evil..Trailer:
I like both of the leading actor and actress playing in this movie. JWS is a good actor. KTH on the other hand, even though her acting as a protagonist is not all that special judging by the character she played in few k-dramas I watched of her (like her acting better when she played a mean bitch in Stairway to Heaven), she's one of prettiest korean actresses imo.
It's a fantasy action movie, kinda like the genre. The trailer looks pretty.. and I heard the critics in Pusan International Film Festival have good things to say about this movie.
hm ..

Apparently, China has unblocked Blogger. Although from time to time, I still have problems accessing the site. Ah, anyways I'm just gonna try to see whether this blog can be maintained like before. Or else, I'll just have to stick to blogging @Friendster blog; which sucks btw.
Wowza, I haven't blogged here for a year!
I don't think this blog is gonna be exclusively for mp3 rotation anymore. I'm gonna dump my random blabbers here too; so.. bear with it. ^^" But of course every now and then, I'm gonna post up some songs.
