While I was doing the ppt for the Financial Statement Analysis Group project (hate this subject, just because I feel so useless)... I stumbled upon this on Yahoo! news:
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The Memory PillIf you experienced a painful or traumatic event, would you want a pill which could lessen the bad memories of what happened? That option might soon be here because of a drug called
propranololIt's already been used to treat high blood pressure. The prospect of using propranolol to modify memory has some trauma victims filled with hope, and some critics alarmed by the potential for misuse.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
I thought it was interesting. It immediately reminded me of some random convo I had with Mar. What if there was a machine or something that would enable you to sort your memories and erase some bad ones, so that it wouldn't haunt you for the rest of your lives. Literally avoiding all that "live with your mistakes" blah ~ rather than the wiser "your mistakes mould what you are now" philosophy.
But of course, this drug is probably nothing like it. The drug would only be able to weaken the traumatic effects of the dreadful events that had just happened; not some old memories. Is it? I'm not quite sure how the drugs work still. Have no energy to watch all those clips and find out more about it.
{click for more info}On the darker note, it's scary, though, to think of all the crimes that this drug would lead to if they fall into the wrong psycho hands.
Anyways, my sis Na2 is coming in ... 2 days! WOW.
I'm kind of worried with all the assignments I have to do. Shucks.

Earlier this week, I was down with diarrhea, not sure what caused it; but I suspected it was after eating the new KFC's salmon twister. The salmon was prolly not fresh or something. And by the time I was feeling better, I was bombarded with assignments and more and more assignments; (plus a gazillion other things I have to do apart from school stuff). I hate final weeks. I really have to buckle up and be more productive, I intend to finish most of my final reports before my sister comes on the 30th.
Yeah, the other sister is coming. Long story short, she's gonna coming down to Beijing for a short holiday and going home with me on the 8th. Kinda excited, but yet worried at the same time. Will I be able to complete my final assignments in time?
Anyways, the long-awaited (at least for me) HP Order of Phoenix is out.
I'm excited! Maybe not as excited as for Goblet of Fire.. And the final installation of the book (the 7th) is coming out in July, too I think. My sister's the one buying the book for us this time, so I have to wait in line after her to read it. I'm dying to know how the final chapter would be. *play suspense background music*

| Your Vocabulary Score: B+ |
You have a zealous love for the English language, and many find your vocabulary edifying. Don't fret that you didn't get every word right, your vocabulary can be easily ameliorated! |
Ah, damn. I didn't manage to get an A-? I really have to brush up on my English vocabs. It scares me that all those big words I'd learnt back then in secondary school have gone down the drain. And now when both my lil' sisters who are in secondary school come to me to ask about those 'chim' words they encounter in English comprehensions; most of the times, I can only laugh awkwardly while lowering my head in shame.
Another quiz I took today is about my so-called inner blood type. Surprisingly my inner blood type is in fact my real bloody type, which is B.
" You follow your own rules in life, even if you change the rules every day.
Sure, you tend to be off the wall and unpredictable, but that's what makes you lovable.
And even though you're a wild child, you have the tools to be a great success.
You are able to concentrate intently - and make the impossible possible.
You are most compatible with: B and AB "Me? Wild? Ha3..

This week's Friday night, Vietnamese food night. Well, I've been craving for Pho for weeks and been nagging my poor housemies to accompany me to some Viet restaurant somewhere in Beijing. After digging around the net and That Beijing magazines, I settled on NUAGE, at Houhai.

Sad to say, I'm a bit disappointed. It wasn't really what I had in mind. I wanted the Pho in Canada. Xe Lua, or PHO99, whichever, I didn't really care. *drooling away*
Nuage's beef noodles was just.. an average beef noodle. And the 32RMB I had to fork out for the Vietnamese coffee was better spent if I had ordered another dish. The Viet coffee in Serve The People, a Thai restaurant btw, was much better. The decoration of the restaurant was..interesting. The disturbing thing is the whole red ambience, which kinda reminded us of those typical Chinese red-district brothels. Really.
Walked around the shops in Houhai.. and once again, succumbed to the temptation of buying useless tid-bits. This time is a silver necklace with heart & wings pendant. I'm weak. =p
Then, we hopped on to Wu Dao Kou's Pepperfarm Bar.
Wasn't easy getting the seats. Had to wait for quite some time til' we get the one at the main section. Lesson learnt: Must reserve a place next time we decide to go. The place is hella packed. Spent the whole time there people-watching. Surprisingly, the waiters working there, are mostly quite easy on the eyes. One of the waiters who was serving us was a looker. ;)
Another lesson to learn: never again order Singapore Sling. I should've been warned it's cheeries. I <3 my strawberry daiquiri though.

and every now and then I like to indulge in reading the horoscopes. So apparently, this is what written in the stars for me for this week..

So, it's supposed to be a fun week? We'll see.. =)
Didn't have any indication that it would be anything more than usual. Today was disappointing really. The only 'motivator' for me coming to today's Import Export class, a certain smiley guy with pretty eyes, decided to skip class for whatever reason. And Tuesday is the only day I get to see him. *sighs* Ah, vell.
Was hella bored after spending days staying at home (except for going to school). So I decided to go brisk walking alone. Bought the usual Jack Hut's milk coffee and succumbed to the temptation of buying that heart shaped gold earrings with pink studs and cute lil' danglings I've been eyeing.
Oh, btw. I'm already in the holiday christmas spirit nowadays. My winamp playlist is merry and christmassy. I'm all humming along to those christmas carols.. the jingles, the bells, the twinklings, the ting-a-ling-ah-ling. I am so looking forward to another Christmas with my family.
*sings*
And I'll be home for Christmas... You can count..on me.. I'll post some X'mas songs to share with you guys later.. =) Spread the holiday spirits y'all. Ho ho ho...

Can someone tell me why I don't really like socializing nowadays, especially with new people?
Is it just me being anti-social, or because I'm kinda tired meeting new people, chitchatchitchat casually, without really having any real connection with them?
It's bad enough that I think I have problems in hanging on or keeping in contact with my old friends, and now I'm tired of trying to make new ones too?
I guess there's a reason my parents told me I shouldn't be a PR person.
I loathe the fact that all my close friends are always apart from me. And even those people I thought were close to me, they keep drifting away from me.
I reaaally should stop being so melancholic, shouldn't I?

I hate being moody. I hate thinking about the what ifs. About the has-beens. About uncertainties in life. I hate turning unreasonably sensitive. I hate that I cry too easily in times like this..
I hate that I keep missing everyone.
It's so much easier if I just blame all these feelings to PMS. Is it, though?
Hopefully I wake up tomorrow feeling so much better.
I don't like the moody crybaby me. I should just stick to being the cheerful me.
To those certain people: I miss you guys =(
Ed: Thanks for always being there for me. Listening to me with all the appropriate noises and nods. Haha. :3 Woof you.

For some reason, I find this funny.

I'm not surprised if one day Travis Barker ends up murdered *knock on wood* and she'd be the first suspect. I have to say though, Paris Hilton really did deserve that bitchslap from her.

Assignments oh ass-ignments. How I loathe thee, let me count the ways..
I think I'm done with my Cross-Culture assignments, both the individual and the group assignments. After researching and looking through so many websites and articles, I don't think my poor brain/eyes can take it anymore. I'm so fortunate that in China they don't really penalize hard (or care at all for that matter) on plagiarism. It's not like we copy-paste the whole thing 100%, we're decent enough to make adjustments here and there and come up with our own ideas in developing the report. It's just that we HEAVILY base our report on those websites.
Well, really, it's not like I can go to the school's library to find any resources, seeing that almost 99% of the library references are in Chinese. I think.. ^^" Unless there's a hidden international library somewhere that I don't know of.
Anyways, one assignment down, lots more to go. Tomorrow is the IB group discussion, on the matter of US escalating cost crisis. Boooorrriiiingggggg. And have I not mentioned enough times that I kinda detest the teacher. Well, more like.. detest his English. You guys should hear the way he tried to pronounce my name.
UTHAAAAA.
It sounds like a chimpanzee trying to communicate with me.
Sorry if I sound harsh, but everytime I try hard in listening to this guy's lectures, not only my ears hurt, but my brain suffers too. Not just because it's overworked trying to comprehend what on earth he's saying, but it's also trying to resist the urge to smack the guy on the face so that he'd stop smiling and pinch his two lips together so that he'd stop talking.
*breathes*
Sorry. It's the PMS talking.
Next week we have that Financial Statement strat analysis report due. GAAAAAH. No matter how much I dislike the subject (it's all due to my incompetence in understanding financial and accounting mumbo jumbo), I could never dislike the teacher. He's too cute. Haha..w
Btw, the heater in my apt is finally on! Woohoo!!

Just came back from Ella's Birthday dinner. She treated us at Isshin <3 HAPPY B'DAY Ella. May God bless you in every step of the way... <3
The Baskin Robbins ice cream cake for her b'day cake was lurve.. rocky road+cookies n cream. yum
Finally finished doing my weekly Data Model assignment. Phew. I'm so sick of processing and observing data in Excel. Regression, Forecasting, GAHGAHGAH.
School is getting more and more hectic as it approaches the final exam time. SOBS. So many assignments to think about.

I think this photoshoot is for InStyle. I adore Rachel Bilson. Not only because I think she's pwettie as a pixie, but also cause of her character in OC. Summer & Seth = love <33 Of course, same is true with Rachel and Adam Brody. Now that Reese-Ryan coupling is dead, I'm rooting for this two.
I gave up on OC since last year but lately I decided to pick it up again; so I finished catching up with the past season's episodes. I truly think the series will die soon. I mean,
WTF they killed Marissa? I heard it's because Mischa Barton refuses to continue. It's true what she said, Marissa's character has already gone so much, from getting OD-ed in Tijuana (?), experimenting with her sexuality, to whatever messed up things she has caught herself in. DRAMA DRAMA DRAMA.
The only thing that keeps me watching is really Summer+Seth.
I recently read an article saying Rachel would prolly follow Mischa's steps to quit OC; and when that time comes, it's bye bye bye for OC.

After going to Lido Hotel to order an Baskin's ice cream cake for friend's birthday, we walked a bit around there and went to Annie's (the 3rd time in a week.omg). Well, this time, the sole purpose was actually to use the washroom since someone couldn't hold it anymore ;) but of course, we ended up eating the mushroom soup and the toasted french baguette. I adore the mushroom soup.. <33
This Friday night was spent differently than usual. We three housemates decided to go out to
Babyface.. which marked my first ever visit to a club. *horror-stricken face* Yes, I sound a bit pathetic, going on 22 and tonight was my first ever step to a real club.
It was a bit disappointing.. seeing that around 98% of the goers were Chinese, and the ration of girls to guys were... gah. Plus, it kinda irked me to spot some middle-aged Chinese men with girls that are too pretty for them. (sorry..)
I expected better cute-guys sightings! Danced around a bit, trying to follow the beat while doing some people-watching. Finally spotted a decently cute foreign guy getting jiggy with it with a girl friend. cuuuuteeee.
Ah, anyways, music was okay. Didn't drink. I kinda figured since a long time ago that clubbing isn't really my scene. But it doesn't mean that I won't go some other time, but definitely not back to Babyface.
Didn't spend too long in Babyface. At first we thought we were gonna go lounging or maybe changed venue. But then when we passed Bellagio, I said what-the-hey let's just eat desserts. Plus my high heels were starting to kill.
So... there was it. My first ever sighting of the cutest Chinese guy I probably would ever see in Beijing. Although, emphasizing the fact that it was me who declared that he is super cute with really pretty eyes.. he was most probably gay (remember my certain attraction to cute guys who happen to like other cute guys? I practically have a list of them)
After observing him for quite some time, I can say I'm almost 95% certain that he is. Really good looking, clean-shaven, well-behaved, sitting with another guy with whom he was seen a bit touchy, the way he sits and walks. Oh well, maybe he's one of those guys who are concerned with their appearances and are secure with their masculinity enough to show their care and loving to their guy friends in public. Hm.
Who cares if he's gay, really. As long as he is easy on the eyes.
*sighs* Man, was he cute. Even Mar and Kik said so even though he wasn't really their type.
They say
all cute good-looking guys are either gays or bastards. It might be the case for me.
Oh wait, or was it
all cute guys are either gays or married?
Anways, having a dinner date tomorrow with Dansen's family and his friends. Bringing Mar and Kik along with moi :)

am so bored in Thursday classes: Cross Cultural + International Business = super yawn.
Went to Silk Street yesterday. Got 2 black graphic T-shirts, 1 red polo (kinda too tight *sobs* i'm considering passing it too someone) plus.. taddaaaaa a new bag... one "Bottega Venetta" - silverish browh color.
have to start doing my CC assignment soon. It's due in one week and I haven't started anything.
The teacher reminded us just now about it, asking whether we already started on something.
